The first Lykes SEABEE-type barge carrier for the Soviet Union, the M/S Yulius Fuchik, was delivered in Helsinki on October 20 by the builder Valmet Oy of Finland. Yalmet had previously contacted Lykes Bros. Steamship Company in Europe and received license
